Salvia officinalis - 'Tricolor' (Variegated Sage), multi-stemmed Herb, culinary uses, evergreen, can be invasive so I am trying it in a basket this year.

Thats what they say so I thought I would try it this way as I dont like herbs to far from the kitchen.

I tried this one a few times and it died off on me too....The plain green leaved one does really well for me...love sage...(not to eat, as a flowering plant)...:>)

We grow an ordinary sage in a largish pot to keep it in bounds. I thought we'd have to replace ours this year as it was getting a bit woody and leggy, but I cut it down quite drastically in early spring as an experiment, and it looks fabulous again. :) Haven't tried growing the tricolour, but it looks so attractive I think I'll have to. :)

I have not had much luck with my sage the last two years they have died off. Got six seedlings that are doing well so far...but if this one is a bit tougher 'invasive' I may try this as well.
