Tricyrtis "Harlequin" (Tricyrtis formosana (Toad Lily))

Went out to get a birthday present but came back with this for me instead! A near blue Toad Lily was too much to pass up on!

Lol! I'm not surprised! It's the most beautiful one I've seen on these pages, Meanie...

The manky Abutilon leaf made a nice background!
It is a stunner though - I'm well chuffed!

It looks a bit spooky to me, lol.

Lol! But none of us were looking at the leaf...even if we could identify it as an abutilon! :))

But I think that it is a nice background Karen!

Very nice indeed, Tricyrtis flowers look so exotic!

I have to agree.
Especially good photographed with flash which make them look even more exotic (which they aren't).

o wow! Like both - tricyrtis and the background. Wouldn't say you used flash - but the contrast is really great. goes to my favourites:)

This one is natural light Kasy - I'll stick a flashed one up later!

Oooh - lovely. Is it still in flower now?

The flowers are all over, although there are four seed pods on it. I've taken a couple of divisions too which will be nestled up in a cosy corner of the coldframe over the winter.

There really are some beauties around, aren't there. I fancy a 'Gilt-Edged' plant. ;-)

Next year should see an explosion of Tricyrtis in my patch with the seeds that I have/ordered!

8 Oct, 2011

LOL. Don't forget the rest of the year!

8 Oct, 2011

I haven't!
Just forgot about the small issue of space!
