Another poem

Very many thanks for the lovely comments about my “Autumn” poem. It was the fastest I have written a poem: 35 minutes.I won’t be giving up my day job to write poems, that’s for sure, but I will continue to write them when the inspiration hits me.
Anyway, in preparation for the oncoming winter (which is predicted to be colder than average, similar to last year!), here is the winter poem.
Hope you like it, but if you don’t I won’t mind at all!
Winter Blues
The weather is rotten,
Last summer’s forgotten,
The rain is soaking the ground.
The wind’s really blowing,
Soon it’ll be snowing as
Winter’s coming around.
Staring out of my window,
I long for the sun,
The happiness, smiles, laughter, and fun.
I long for the flowers and the smell of the summer,
It better come soon ‘cos this weathers a bummer!
The days are much darker,
And so is my mood,
So I’ll stay in the house and eat loads of food.
I just hope by the spring I’m not fat and smelly,
After sitting and eating and watching the telly.
Oh what can I do to stop feeling so sad?
I must cheer up soon or else I’ll go mad!

Very good poem Geraniumdad.........I think you've said what everyone feels...we all long for summer to be here, but in reality when it is....it's such a disappointment!....:o((

Well this summer has been more like winter here so I'll be glad to see the back of it. We've hardly seen the sun since June, so I'm looking forward to some nice autumn days :o)
I hope the weather forecast for winter is wrong. The last 2 summers they predicted hot weather but we didn't get it, so I hope their prediction for winter will be just as inacurate. I don't cope well with frost and snow. I preffer it mild and wet myself :o)
It's nice to be able to write poetry. It's great to use our creativity in different ways. Maybe you can use the winter to write some more, instead of staring at the boring tv. lol it would be a better way to spend the time :o))
