Back in the garden: part 3

The final part of this blog features some more of the plants I have that will be flowering soon or are flowering at the moment.
This is one of my Hostas which will be flowering soon.
One of my Thalictrums: it has a delicate scent and looks really good against the dark fence.
This is one of my ‘tree lilies’ which I bought from QVC.
I measured it…..
Yes, you are reading it correctly: about 60 inches to the ground! It is still growing…. I am expecting a giant to come down it one day! Better have an axe ready……..
This is another one of my Dianthus seedlings.
I like Antirrhinums and this is a small one I am growing on one of my raised beds. The colour is stunning!
My Pyracantha is in flower at the moment and what lovely flowers they are. Not keen on the scent though!
Finally, I enjoy having birds visit the garden and like to put food out for them. I didn’t have a bird bath and couldn’t really afford to buy something big, so I got a couple of soap dishes from Homebase for less than £3.00 and stuck them on one of the concrete fence posts.
They are really popular with the smaller birds who wait in line on the fence for a quick dip!
Well, that’s it for now, so until the next time,
happy gardening one and all!!

My Pyracantha is planted in a corner against my shed and my fence. It does get some sun for part of the day. I have it stop people climbing over in the corner (not that anyone ever has done!) and as a food supply for my stick insects! I used no more nails to stick the soap dishes on.

Love your soap dish baths! What a special treat for the smaller birds to have their own baths :) Great idea.

i may have asked before but what camera do you use?
those little pinks against the slate look really good ~ im learning its all about how you place things and i think that works incredibly well.
im hoping you get a bag of gold or a golden hen down from your lily ~ you dont want the giant ~ or do you??!

Thank you all for the lovely comments: very much appreciated!
I use a small Fuji Finepix A280 camera I bought last year in Sainsburys for £49.99, reduced from £99.99 for whatever reason. It takes great photos especially in high definition.
Would prefer a hen to arrive and lay some eggs but knowing my luck it will be the giant and all his relatives!!

Great photos. Your Pyracantha looks lovely i have one that has a few tiny flowers on but has been moved recently. Is yours in shade? One of my hosta's is about to flower too. Love the soap dishes and i may just pinch that idea.
