Yesterday was bright but still very wet in the garden, so unable to mow the lawn’s I did manage to do some weeding and pull up a lot of bindweed……..I cut back a couple of bushes along the paths and steps that lead to the front door. So it does look a bit tidier now…………
Meanwhile others thought fit to chill out………..in the sun that was coming in through the balcony doors………..and Bossy Jilly booted Shadow off their couch and into her basket………….

That's the life, eh Goldie!

I managed to get out for a couple of hours myself and am halfway through a blog now. I'm goint to check the front lawn to see if there's any chance of me cutting it. If not, I'll work on some of the weeds in the border under the conifers and do some prep ready for the bark we hope to put down in the coming weeks. We have named it the 'Woodland Area' as we are looking to attract wildlife etc.

Great to hear you're making progress out there though. Keep up the good work girl!!!

Now someone has recommended that I cut my back lawn cover in a skin and then lay bark down....as I want to reduce the amount of maintenance on my garden.........
the problem is though having to wheelbarrow it up through the back entry to my back garden..
Will read you blog with interest Billie
Cheers

I have to agree with Marguerite on the bark issue.

When i moved here there was bark laid in a 8' x 8' border and i was continuously having to pick it up off the lawn 1) because it looked a mess and 2) it kept ruining the mower blades as it was buried in the grass.
Grrrrr.

Marguerite I am bit physically challenged at the moment,
Just got rid of my walking stick............Hurray ! But don't want to over do it this year, and any digging or kneeling is definitely out..........But have taken on board your comments about the bark.
Thanks Marguerite and Louise

Two contented pals, I tried bark in part of my dog run a couple of years back ,it looked neat but was terrible when wet because the colour transferred to my dogs paws, then onto the path and yard , it took months to rid the path and yard of the stains, never used it again.........
