thank you for all your advice about stopping cats from using my lawn as a toilet! Am going to try all suggestions as situation getting desperate!
This is my first blog entry. I am praying for some fine weather sometime soon – it has been so awful here in the west country.
Rain and more rain and now high winds more like winter!
My garden late summer blooms are suffering and I am missing pottering about in the evenings deheading and enjoying sitting outside enjoying what I have done with the garden so far and planning lots more.
As some of you know I am a very novice gardening but with big ideas!
I am so enjoying this hobby and wish I had paid more attention to my mum who was a great gardener. Wish she could just once walk round my garden now and tell me what I’m doing wrong and praise what I’m doing right.
Hope the sun is shining somewhere on some of you.

You must have seen the comments from the UK members on the subject ot the weather, Jo! Now I read in the paper that this will have been the wettest summer for umpteen years. SIGH! I would also like to have my 'amble' round the garden in the evening. I miss it, like you do. All we can do is enjoy any brief sunny spells.

Well yes we are having lots of sunshine and no rain forecast for the next 10 days. So we have to water. I can tell that you are having fun planning your garden. Your weather has to change sometime. At least you don't get hurricanes like they are expecting in Florida at the moment. I dread to think what damage that will do to a garden. Keep enjoying your hobby, you have obviously inherited the love of gardening from your mother. Planning is half of the fun. Do what you want not what the garden designers say is the latest fashion.
