Sweet! We have a wood mouse living in one of the greenhouses. Guess it found the place warmer than being outside over that frosty snap. They're not daft!
Don't like wild birds coming into the house, Stera. Had a bat once at the top of the stairs
. Although not a bird it didn't know that, and kept flying just out of our reach.

That's cute, bed and breakfast and I bet they're cosy in there....

Eirlys it wasn't in the house - we have patio doors from the house into the conservatory and kept them closed! I know what you mean about bats, its very hard to get them out of a room once they get in. We have a roost in our roof and occasionally have had "visitors". We discovered where they were getting into the house from the loft and sealed it up. We did a bat count in the autumn and counted over 12. We find dead babies occasionally - very sad, they are so tiny.

Stera: We had bats flying past an upstairs window and believe they had a home in our roof space. When we made enquiries we found we would be penalised with a hefty fine if we tried to get rid of them!
Would like to think they are around still but we haven't seen one for ages. Quite like bats. Found a Pipistrelle once in an orchard. It was a bit dazed in the sunlight but alive. Surprising how many people gathered around to have a look at it. Guess it's unusual to get that sort of close-up.
(TRIVIA: Read somewhere that the Queen uses a long-handled net to catch any bats that get into one of her palaces!! Balmoral, I think it was.)

Ahhh! Aren't they nice. We just had a robin in our conservatory - luckily he seemed to have more sense than most birds and avoided crashing into the windows. He flew out eventually.
