Memo's

I don’t know about you but twice this month I’ve missed an appointment. and I’ve forgotten who it was that I promised a cutting to.
My kitchen calendar is a mess and the notes in the ‘Bothy’ are plentiful but some are faded, others are out of date and I’m totally confused as to when I fed my roses.
Is there a ‘thechie’ out there who knows of a way to type it into a ‘memo’ so all I need to do to check is to press a button. A sort of personal calandar/diary on the laptop.

That sounds like just the thing Spritzhenry, do you still have the disc with the suppliers name on?

Hi Heron
Our Mac computer has a icon for "ical", I have never used it. I have to say if info is not written on our paper calendar it doesn't exist. A book diary can take more info. I keep up with important engagements etc that way.
Best wishes
Linda

I thought there used to be a diary that we could access on GOY...I used it ages ago to set myself reminders, but I have just checked and I cant see it anymore?

I have a 'notebook' option on my laptop Heron (which is actually a notebook too so maybe that's why!!).
Mostly I use my mobile's calendar to remind me of anything & everything!!

Sorry, Heron - can't lay my hands on it. but you could google it. Our son gave it to us - he bought it at a Stationer's. There might be some around soon ready for C*******s. LOL.

Glad you blotted out the C*******s word, Spritzhenry!! You will have people panicking already! LOL

I can't even bear to 'think' it, let alone type it, Andrea! :-((((

I'm pleased about that Spritz......IT will come soon enough!!!!!!!!!!1
Heron.....Have you tried the trusted method of a "knot in a hankie"?.....lol
24 Aug, 2010
Ahem. I don't think that would tell him what he was supposed to remember, Alice! lol.
24 Aug, 2010
Didn't think he would remember anyway...tee.hee..heeee....just that he had to "remember" something....lol

Oooh! You are mean.....Poor Heron! :-(((

Use the calendar facility in your email account Heron. It pops up to remind you what is happening. If you want to be reminded that you have to do something on Friday 11th for instance you could put it in to remind you on 9th 10th and 11th.

Amblealice, that snot helpful, I'd have to remember where I'd put the hankie.

Scotsgran, that's clever, which a/c offers it?
By the way there are some well informed folk out there, who need 'Techies'? ........or even 'Hankies'
24 Aug, 2010
my email is Microsoft Office Outlook. Sorry I'm not techie enough to guess what a/c is. As well as calendar there is also a tasks facility.
24 Aug, 2010
I should have said ISP Scotgran but I agree it's all a lot of 'jargon' anyway it seems that there's a lot more help on line than I thought......fortunately, as I don't often use a hankie.

Heron you should have a calendar on msn if you use it, pops up and lets you know what's what, easy to use, daily or monthly and never lets you forget ;-))
25 Aug, 2010
MSN never tried that, does it come with windows mail? I use Yahoo at the moment but don't like it for several reasons. I've had 'clever' people try to change it over to Windows but they've all failed. When I get a mo I'm going to get BT to take over my pc and do it.

Yes I do you could make your own make a folder up on pc like you would your pictures or go into note pad on pc and put your things on there that way you ve always got it as I ve known sites and things close down on the net with all peoples thing s gone, so even if your not on the net you can access your remiders from folder or your note pad go to all programs to get note pad don't forget to save lol what you put on before closing.
25 Aug, 2010
yes it's on Messenger Ron

I'll see if I can change to Windows mail, wish me luck.

Whoopie, thanks to a delightful young Indian girl I'm now back with Windows mail. It took her 50 mins, much longer than she thought, no wonder Pen couldn't fix it.

Not a techie answer - but we were given a very, very useful calendar two years ago. Not only one that would hang on the wall, but it had a disc with it which we loaded onto the PC, with a calendar that we can type on! Magic!
It pops up when the PC is switched on, Heron. It's called a graphiqueEcalendar. You might be able to track one down. Good luck!
