Slug beery glug glug

Well the beer traps have certainly worked but as the cheapest aldi ale is 99p, I cannot keep these slugs all night party going. So, i decided to make my own brew of yeast and sugar. It seems only big beefy slugs prefer my non alchololic alterative.

You really made me chuckle with the slugs all night party.
If you leave the yeast and sugar to brew for a few days surely you'll get alcohol? Perhaps its the hops that are missing, lol. Or perhaps the parent slugs are trying to keep the youngsters away from addiction...

Hi Hillside girl,I have been using coffee round my plants and it works on some,I have used the slug pub along side it and had twelve in the pot today so I think that was a result.I get my cheap larger £2 for four cans from aldi, but like you said it is a big expense, and I wont be able to keep it up.

I agree with Callie ... ask in a coffee shop or a supermarket with a coffee shop if you can have some coffee grounds. I got a huge bagfull (free) last year from a supermarket ... put the grounds on top of some grit around all the Hostas (in pots) and no holes from slugs and snails at all.

Hi Hillside, there have been a few blogs over the last couple of weeks and they have been saying about using coffee grounds to ward off the slugs and snail. Maybe that will work out cheaper?
