Freecycle bounty

I haven’t managed to do much over the last week due to a horrible cold. It has really zapped me of all energy. There have been some gorgious warm days and it was been so frustrating.
There was one marvellous thing that happened. I saw an advert on freecycle for some free michaelmas daisies nearby. The lady asked me over to collect. Her garden was fantastic with a wonderful view.It was hard to believe that they were a few miles from Nottingham city centre. Anyhow, I showed a few photos of the hillside garden and the lady (Ros) offered me so many plants including oxalis, perenial geraniums, sweetwilliams, helibore, nigella, honesty, forgetmenots, veronica, phygelius, leycesteria, aquilegia, icelandic poppy, freckles; brugmansias, peony, cotoneaster, erysimium….. I cannot thank Ros enough. I have put some of these in my holding bed withan offer of her to come over for a cuppa

"Gardeners" are lovely people I have found. When Younger Son was about seven he went off with 6p to buy me a birthday present and came back with a large, lovely posy from and old-fashioned garden "centre".
You will always remember Ros when you see those plants blooming!

Isn't Freecycle wonderful? I gave away some plants on it last autumn and was offered three bags of windfall apples in return!
