Hi Hoe Hi Hoe...........

My shower rail has always been a pain as it tends to fall down every now and then… Last week it did fall one end……………Having put up with it all week, i was determined to fix it on sunday……….. i needed something to hold up the end while the No more Nails dried………. I went in to the garage…… ahhh i thought id try the broom…. but no it was to short, garden canes…. not strong enough, an old pole… again to short…………after gazing round the garage wondering what on earth i could use…. i saw the hoe…… it was longer than the other things i had tried…. so off i went hoe in hand….. Hi Hoe Hi Hoe………..
I tried it for size…… a perfect fit……… so i got my steps out and got the No More Nails and fixed it back up………. then put the hoe up to support the rail……..it done the job perfectly……….it neede to stay there for 24 hours for the No More Nails to set hard…………….I gingerly took it down this morning…….and heyyyyyyy i have my shower rail back up………

Now if you have any odd jobs that need doing… dont forget your garden tools……..

Holly, well done ~
and I like your blue bathroom.

Must admit I use "wrong" tools.
An old tablespoon was ideal for putting compost into pots. Lol.

Well done - a girl after my own heart! If it fits the job, use it! Most tools should be multipurpose anyway :)

Great idea Hollyeves. Very smart.
Janette, that is a great idea for your wallpaper too. I'll have to remember that one.

How about the plastic scoops you get with washing powder? They're great for compost. The large kitchen knife from my partner's treasured knife block is great for splitting Hostas (Shhhh! Don't tell him!) Old towels in a plastic bag make great 'kneelers.' The plastic boxes that you buy mushrooms in make fantastic seed trays. I could go on endlessly! Gardeners are generally very inventive ..... aren't we????

What a great idea :o)

Know what you mean, Nariz.
Egg boxes for chitting potatoes, and sowing seeds if boxes are made of cardboard
Newspaper pots!
Plastic food trays make useful small seed trays, use a skewer to punch drainage holes
Transparent food trays as propagator lids for those seed trays
guttering for rows of veg seedlings
Plastic forks for labelling seeds with empty packet
Toilet and kitchen paper rolls for sowing plants that need deep soil
Plastic bottles upturned & pierced for watering grow bag
Small plastic bottles topped with small spray heads ( ffrom Wilkinsons) for watering seed trays .... a bottle on each windowsill is convenient
Old CDs strung up make good bird scarers
.... etc. etc.

Wow, Xela ~
Maybe you could make a blog some time, please, with all those ideas, including photos. Seems very innovative. :o)

24 Feb, 2009

LOL..........Thanksssssss for all your comments....

Another one for the bottles Xela - empty plastic lemonade, coke or water bottles cut in half make great little cloches for tender seedlings - or - if you cut a jagged edge slugs and snails will go no further!

25 Feb, 2009

Ah yes, I had forgotten the little cloches, it won't be long before those plastic bottles will be protecting some of my little'uns before going into the recycling bin.
I hadn't thought of cutting a jagged edge to deter slugs and snails, like that one and shall be giving it a go. Thank you.
TT, of course I will write a blog on this matter if you like. I haven't any suitable photos at the moment but I should have soon ..... my windowsills are filling up nicely with improvised trays sown with a variety of seeds.
