Just a quick couple of pictures for Alistair of the Iochroma growing in my garden, here in Norfolk. This one taken at the beginning of July.
And these in May

That's pretty, like Angel's trumpets.

Thanks Yes very interesting! There's a rubin being sold cheapish on eBay (probably not hardy at all) if you ignore the sellers postage charges and just use the post office.

Unusual and interesting. I've never heard of this plant before.

It is a beautiful blue Anget which is what drew me to it in the first place.
Depending on where you look it is also called a Brugmansia and you can see it is (sort of) related to the Daturas. Like a miniature one of those Thorneyside.
As they grow possibly to 3.5 metres in height and spread it's not something to drag in and out of protection, so it will have to take a chance.
The dark patch at the top of the flower are sepals to cover the bud Meadowland and the colour of the flower is a childs idea of a blue summer sky!
Not sure what the Rubin is Youngalistair?
I saw it on eBay Hywel while I was just browsing like you do, and decided that I needed to give it a try. I have had two years worth of beautiful flowers so mustn't complain if we get a really bad winter and I lose it. I will give it some good mulch and hope for the best. Optimism and global warming might pull it through.
