A Camera Shy Gold Finch !!!

Another of my favourite birds.......

Brilliant Jacque I bet you're so happy! I remember you posting on one of my photos that you didn't get finches, now you get the most beautiful finches ever and 4 of them to boot! The first time I ever saw one of these I rang my mum and sent her the photo as I thought it was an escaped cage bird, they are so colourful. Keep putting out niger seed and plant teasels and they'll keep coming :-)

you are so good with your camera, I could do with lessons from you. the problem I have is that all the nicest things appear when I dont have my camera with me

Well done, Jacque. They are timid, aren't they? but so beautiful. I've only seen one in my garden, once so I've started making niger seed cake. The blackbirds and all the tits love it but still no sign of goldfinches.

Oh my, I'm lucky to see a sparrow these days, maybe they're busy elsewhere. I shall have to try some niger seed. Bloggins

I had lots of these in my old garden Jacque. They didn't seem to mind . I hope you get more of them.

Well done Jacque good photos. I haven't seen any birds in the garden this week and the feeders haven't been touched.....very strange

Sure they will get used to you Jacque...ours love niger seed and sunflower hearts.Another new species to add to your ever growing list of regular visiters....you must be over the moon !

Well done Jacque - I see them regularly but not near the feeders, but they love my alder trees. Have you heard the cute sounds they make? Just beautiful ..

Ha ha - better luck next time aye Jac? These are such pretty birds....I put a niger seed feeder in my garden in the autumn to try and attract them, but nothing yet :-(

Got these coming into my garden again. Never have the camera ready though!!
