Frost Alert

Frost alert for Shropshire over this weekend – always panic stations even though you thought you had everything well organised – the best laid plans are never enough and panic takes over in my case
Anyway I have done my best to get most tender plants under cover -and I will have to re-organise the greenhouse and the utility
My Norfolk Pine is safely in the utility -same position as last year – it has grown
I have a mixture of plants in the greenhouse – i do have a heater but will be reluctant to use it only in severe conditions I will rely on fleece – several layers of it – so it was panic stations last night to remember where I had stored it
I shall reorganise the utility to house some of my cacti – and my pelargonium cuttings will go in the conservatory that is my plan – but of course it all takes time
Hope all your winter plans are in place and that you are better organised than me -
It is that time of year – I have a lot of begonias in pots – they need to dry off so that I can safely keep the tubers for next year and of course still lots of bulbs to plant and the pots on the front drive have not been done yet and the window boxes need attention – but it is a lovely day here today – the sun is shining – so I am off out into the garden to see what comes next – enjoy your day – Jane

Your Norfolk Pine is a handsome specimen, Jane.
Your greenhouse has a really pretty and attractive collection of plants.. all snuggled down for winter coming.

I think you seem quite organised to me Jane!
I don't keep the begonia corms even though they are dried off, I still get bugs in them!

Thankyou for your comment Kate yes I love my Norfolk pine it seems to like its winter spot by the washer it spent last winter there too and Rose thankyou for your comment - I find the vine weevil a problem too but I make sure there are none of the little white grubs hiding in the corm and then wrap each corm in kitchen roll and put them in a onion bag and either store them in the garage or the loft
