Hello I have tried to post this question on the question page – for some reason I have had little success with posting – I will try on the Gardening Blog page – I rescued these cacti from Wilkos a while ago they were in a sorry state – they are going to Shrewsbury Flower Show as part of my entry – I need to give them their correct label – I have looked in my RHS Manual – but I am not sure – can anyone give me any ideas please

Identification of cacti is difficult.

1. I believe is a type of Parodia

2. Mammillaria elongata

3. A Rebutia or Mammillaria ... the flowers would tell.

There are several cactus identification sites on line you could look at.

Thankyou Hywel they have pretty much tripled in size since they were rescued but have not flowered yet

They look like ones that should flower easily. Give them time :)

I have given up on Cactus names. Our local garden centre have a good display of quality Alpines at £2.49. I bought
7, brought them home, immediately discarded the labels, too complicated to start learning them now.
If you enjoy looking at the detail of a plant, especially at this time of year dont worry about its name.
I can remember Clematis names, but they are easier.
