The new project

Our garden must have the most stones ever, honestly!!! After removing wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow the earth is actually looking promising. Have added calcified seaweed to help break it down.
This new project has been long in starting because it is awkward. Still plenty of sunshine and shade at different times of the day, yes, the plants will love it!
Patio done (bit sloped – major disappointment done by professional too). Lots of border area – 2 sides border, 1 side veggies, 1 side path.
Back breaking diggin is done, second part will be another path leading to brickbuilt BBQ.
I think I can take it easy for a while anyway. I am loving this area I have created. :)

I can sympathise with you janiemclean, I too found tons of rocks in the soil, I made paths with the stones, we now have what i call nicer stones, so the stones thati dug up have been deligated to the side of the greenhouse to make a path there, It's a lot better to walk on stones than through a lot of weed, especially nettles, don't think the fox will like it much, he's been asleep there.

Hi Janie, Welcome to GoY
Yes I remember those rocks and stones when I took 28 wheel barrows of them out of a friend's garden years ago. I think the ground level must have gone down quite a bit after their removal.
Good luck with your project.
All the best, Hywel.

Sounds like a lovely garden, all your hard work was worth it, I would love to see pics :) and maybe your patio was meant to be "slightly" sloped for rain to run off Janie, we have just had a block paving drive put in and because the garden runs towards the house they had to slightly slope it from the house to about third down the drive :)

It sounds like you have been working very hard. What did you do with all those rocks? Is that what your BBQ is made out of? :o)
