Some views of my garden today

Couldn’t do much gardening as it was so hot today, so took a few pictures -

View from the back door, to the right is the patio area and the ‘sunny’ border; the path on the lefthand side leads to the greenhouse and compost area.

The Stipa tenuissima and Heucheras self-seeded into the cracks in the paving.

Looking back in the opposite direction

Your raised bed looks very tropical and I like the patio looks lovely with the self seeded plants. I also love your huge hosta near your acer.

Thank you Bill, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my visiting hedgehog gets to the snails/slugs before they get to the Hostas!

I was searching yesterday for vine weevil nematodes and discovered you can get it for slugs too(nemaslug). I don't know if you've tried it before but I might try it myself.

Very "elegant" garden, I like it so much. Evidently a gardener has a style :)

Thank you all for the lovely comments.

Thanks for the information Bill, I have used the nematodes for vine weevil, I'll have a look at the ones for slugs.

I'm not sure about style Katarina, I inherited some of the hard landscaping when we moved here (the two raised beds either end of the patio) but in between was a 4' strip of 'crazy paving' which wasn't much good for anything, and a lawn which sloped up from it. We put in the much wider patio and a retaining wall and then dug up half the lawn and made another flowerbed. Over the years the flowerbeds have got wider and the lawn smaller!
