Flower Power

Just thought I would share these two items that were in my ‘My Village News’ mag.
1st) www.flowerpowerfairs.co.uk
This organization seem to travel around visiting garden and nurseries, not sure if it’s only in the north west.
They are at Combermere Abby Shropshire on the 27th may.
2nd) W.H.Davies poem ‘Leisure’
WHAT is this life if, full of care,
we have no time to stand and stare?-
No time to stand beneath the boughs,
And stare as long as sheep and cows:
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:
No time to see, in broad daylight,
streams full of stars, like skies at night:
No time to turn at Beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet, how they dance:
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began?
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
I just thought this was a lovely poem, never read it before.

That is one I learnt many moons ago, although I`ve never really liked poetry that is one that just stuck in my head at the time and I do like it...

Glad you all enjoyed the poem, I am not into poetry really, but when I read that it seemed strike a cord! Life is defiantly too busy at the moment.

I enjoy plant fairs. There are hardly any around here.
That poem is wonderful. I've read it many times in the past. I try to stand (or sit) and stare as often as I can :o)
