I also live in East Sussex and have done so since 1987. Coming from South East London before that. I started gardening seriously when I took over an alloment. It was a good excuse to get away from the business my husband and I ran and I also enjoyed it. At the end of a busy day it brought me down to "earth" again.
I moved here in 2000 and started the garden from scratch and gradually have built up a lovely flower garden and veg plot. The veg plot doesnt sustain me all the year round but i do freeze a lot and make chutney. I look on my garden as my "green gym". It keeps me fitter and my brain active. I hate the winter and long for the spring and summer again.
