Wooden angels

I think, every gardener likes trees. Anybody from gardeners likes to cut the tree without really, really serious reason.
But do you think sometimes, how much one tree can give to a man? Not just during its life but also after its death? Fire in a cruel winter, light in a pitch dark, music tuned from flute, guitar or violin, a table to meet with family or friends, wooden barrels to keep the best vines, chair to sit on, shelves to put our favourite books on, house and even church….Protestants in Slovakia were so much obsessed with wood that they built several wooden churches without a single nail. They still stand.
But only if the trunk of a dead tree is found by two artists, then the tree is naked to its pure essence….

Maybe the wife of woodcarver :) It was carved by woodcarver and painted by the owner of gallery, who is also big fan of angels, angel cards and esoterics :))

Lovely Katarina. I love the way the 2nd angel's head has the background of the painting on your wall. The first angel looks very tall.

Lulu@ It is private gallery, so the owner-artist knows how to arrange things :))) The first angel is very small, like 5 year old child. The second angel is almost as high as me.

They are very lovely, I so enjoyed seeing them and your thoughts on the sacredness of wood and what it does for us humans.

I put it in my favourites katarina, mainly because i really liked the thoughts you explained about the wood ~ lovely.

Lovely. I think it saddens all of us when a tree has to be cut down, but using the wood afterwards so beautifully compensates. Its hard to imagine a whole wooden church made without nails!

The world grows bigger and better with positive and loving thoughts.
However bad we think it is, I think we must remember that negative reporting has much to do with it.
We all know that there are people and whole countries in need of help, and forests. We can only do our best in thought and word and deed....x

you are so right lulu ~ change starts at home or something like that ~ its the little things that often start it.

Sounds to me strange, girls. I saw many times in my life devil with positive and loving thoughts. One priest in Czech underground had a song. That song had refrain:"Devil is an old b...ch. He will come again in a new disguise."
In July 2001 I was in mass in famous Cracow church. Another well-known former underground priest had a speech there about goodness and evil. He said:"Absolute evil doesn´t in fact exists. Only small evils." In September 11th 2001 died hundreds of civilians in Twins and aeroplanes. Instead of fight against terrorism states now lead their war against their own citizens.
I am really not sure if this world is getting better. It is just getting smarter how to cheat with angel´s face...

most likely right katarina, and a very perceptive comment.
i still think there are things we can do to make our own surroundings better ~ people and nature
15 May, 2012
Yes, you can make nature better, not people.

have you given up on all of them katarina?
15 May, 2012
Let´s say, I always keep a big reserve. I often found, that reserve is still not enough.
15 May, 2012
yes i agree with you there
