These statues were exclusively made for a River Park shopping center in Bratislava. Author´s name is Colin Spofforth. All statues are based on characters described in his wife´s book. I like them!

I read that he is one of the best current British sculptors.

Very desirable - hope they are bolted down!

I hope the girl with the umbrella is firmly attached to that roof! If she came crashing down it would cause a stir!!

They are lovely! They look as if they are going to move at any minute.

Steragram@what did you mean? These are not the only statues in Bratislava.

Surreylad, Melchisedec@yes, they look like those "living statues" which you can see in large European cities in streets during season. You are just waiting on the moment, they will start to move. I like especially that scene of a female ropewalker, how she is relaxed, while both men are evidently worried and as if trying to send her help ;-) Love them. These statues are very similar to boys playing with ducks (Duck Fountain) from 1914 (R. Kuhmayer):

Snoopdog@I perfectly understood, Snoopdog. I just wanted her explanation. As stealing statues is not our national sport and in this exposed place I can imagine only thief of Lara Croft calibre.

Very much enjoyed. Lovely example of English sculpture after all that Barbara Hepworth silly rubbish we had for
years.

Yes Katarina, I meant that in some places (not where I live thank goodness) some people will steal anything. Did you see a question on here a short time ago from somebody asking how to fasten his pots down so they would not be taken? I've often heard of people in British cities having their pots and hanging baskets taken. It was no criticism of your country, just sad experience of ours. I wish I hadn't said it if it upset you.
