That’s the motto of the snails in my garden went for a look around this morning after a night of rain stopped under my pergola to check on non existing grapes not to bothered about them as the leaves gives a lovely shady canopy when the sun is out !! looked up the find numerous snails how they get up there never ceases to amaze me ,also came home yesterday after a long day out to find my son had installed a new bird feeder from the RSPB as a surprise my old feeding pole had giving in to rust the grandchildren were on the phone very excited asking had I noticed anything new in the garden has they had helped put it together so hope the birds will take to it . Have a good weekend everyone i’am off to a cream tea in one of our local chapels sad to say not many left here in Wales .

I seem to have less slugs this year and way more snails.

What a lovely surprise. And if you screw hooks into the corners you can hang you feeders on it a swell. Splendid view from your garden!

When I saw the title of your blog I immediately thought you had acquired a tortoise! I too seem to have lots of snails and slugs and am forever patrolling to save my hostas. Your new bird table is lovely and what a great surprise to come home to. Enjoyed seeing the view too - beautiful :)

It seems to be general, we have had more snails too. I noticed after the last rain on Friday there are more slugs around too now. They are hiding from our hot weather I think. Your garden is looking lovely and the grape is a good shade giver. I discovered a bunch of grapes on my outdoor vine yesterday but it is a bit late for them to develop into edible fruit but I'll keep my fingers crossed.
How exciting for the children to give you such a great surprise. I'm sure the birds will love it.

Thank you all for reading my blog Dcr I have noticed that I have also seen less slugs to , I am thrilled with my new bird table but at the moment only the greedy gang are using it collared doves and magpies !! the smaller birds are to afraid to use it when they are around and the doves will eat all day so don't know how to discourage them .

Your garden looks pretty, and you've got lovely views :)
Snails ! :( Well I've seen more this year than ever. I think they're increasing very rapidly :(
Welsh chapels are a thing of the past (unfortunately) They were the centre on the communities once upon a time.

There are six Welsh chapels in our pastorate but some of them are struggling. Only one of them is doing a good job as a centre of the community though.

I bet that lovely shady seat has come in very handy over the last few days for humans as well as snails!
Ours have managed to get at the hostas at last as well as other tasty treats - why don't they seem to go for weeds instead?!!!

Stergram ,Hywel, it's a shame about the chapels I dont attend the chapel ( I'am church) but we do support each other the ladies of the chapel who put on the tea done a splendid job lovely sandwich, homemade cakes strawberries and cream and a very good cup of tea all served in and on beautiful china there was a raffle and a quiz , and there were people of all different religions there which was lovely . Wildrose the seat is a good place to sit in this hot weather and I wish the snails would help with the weeding :))

Yes Kidsgran, funny how chapels and cake seem to go together - but our local Church in Wales is not behind the door when it comes to baking.

We underestimate wild creatures. They are as hot as
we are.
