its rained all night and im so glad,there were cracks in my lawn and the grass is yellow in places but there was no way i was watering it,was sick of people saying i hope it stays like this,but we need water and my poor garden was parched,the only problem is half my lawn is cut as the mower wouldnt work in the rain,oh well

We need rain badly here as well, at the moment I´m only trimming my lawn once a week with the mower set at the highest setting without the grass box on....just to make it look not too stragely My 2 1000 litre water barells are nearly empty as well, light drizzel has been forecast for tuesday...will just have o wait and see what happens.

Yes rained all night here as well Ladybug, I`ve been carrying rinsing water out to my lawn for weeks now, it helps a bit, I `m also only cutting on a 2week basis, I strim the edges and around the trees and leave the rest.
Rogi thanks for reminding me, I have a lot of bare patches on my bottom lawn where I`ve cleared out the moss, too dry to even attemp reseeding so leaving the graasbox off might help down there......

well at 12pm we had a bit of thunder and then it piddled it down like it had saved up and let it all go at once,and who was in it walking home in a t shirt as the sun had come out with poor penny who looked like a drowned rat when we got back,typical

I think we're all breathing a sigh of relief now.....except poor Rogi that is! Hope you get some soon Rogi. Did some planting today and the soil was wet through - perfect. Haven't mowed for weeks but I'm sure that's about to change :o)
