I believe Bjs makes them in to wonderful archways. Put ' Bjs ladders ' in to the google box and do a search. Its the niftiest bit of recycling ever.

This blog really made me laugh Ladybug.
The ladder with one leg shorter than the other (who used to use it???) and the bit about Quinn and Penny chowing down on the chicken poo!! Hilarious

You could lay it on the ground and plant different herbs along the sections if you have the space.

Attach the ladders sideways to a wall and hang pots of hostas on it 1) to cover a bare wall and 2) to keep the munchers off! There is a blog about the 'Hanging Hosta Gardens' on here but I forget who posted it.

It was treesandthings 8th August 2010. To find it just type hanging hosta gardens in the google box and click on search.

ladder could be fastened to the wall and as long as the rungs are sound you could hang pouches/light planters off it. vertical wall!
chicken poo is indeed good for the garden but use it sparingly. Hope quinn and penny are not the children yikes!!
