I have just seen some of the blogs and answers to my questions which must have been there unseen for months .;how very strange. Have another laugh on me. When I started up my raised beds in March they were in full sun .By
May the were in full shade. The leaves came on the trees Now I have only lived in the house 30 years. I must earmark a different place to to put them .Absolute disaster with raised beds. potatoes hanging over the corners and too far from water sources. Just bought 66 metre hose on a reel. to reach to greenhouse where I fill up a water butt. The best crop this year has been from my strawberries which I have scattered around the flower beds and on dry banks. I have hidden broad beans amongst flowers too to fool those pesky squirrels.. Yes there is a water feature that is covered in duck weed As a gardener I think I get 3 out of 10. I have just BOUGHT some Jersey royals to give my efforts a further time extension. Good luck to you all

I didn't laugh at you lilypad, just a liittle smile,as lots of us have been there, and we are still on a learning curve. Now you know your garden's best and worst features, you will be fully aware next time...That's what happens, and how you deal with it in the future,so don't worry, disappointing as it may be for you...
hope you enjoyed your "Jerseys"Lol.
