Wales was cold but beautiful..

Our trip to Wales was a great success, rained on our first night but the rest of the time although very cold was sunny..We had booked into a hotel in Conwy and although the accomodation was very good, they forgot our breakfast one day and locked us out on the second night, would you believe it? after telling us we were ok until 11pm (any later one was to ask for a key) they had locked up when we arrived back at 10-15pm, not only that there wasn`t a soul about to hear us knocking on the door…Our reaction to put it bluntly was GOBSMACKED !!!!. Luckily the manager resides in a bungalow between the carpark and the hotel so I knocked on his door, he knew immediately what had happened without my telling him and NOPE it wasn`t his fault, he had heard us drive up but thought it was a member of the staff, I reminded him that he had told us that we would be ok until 11pm…Anyway we let ourselves in, locking up once again and retired to our rooms, by this time we were both in hysterics, it was so funny and all because we wanted photo`s of the castle in the dark .LOL.. On our way there we stretched our legs at the Pont Cysyllte Aquaduct but this time we were unlucky and had just missed the narrow boats actually crossing..
We have actually walked across but not this time.
Next stop was Swallow Falls
Onwards to Betws-y-coed, always a favourite of mine, years ago we have sat here for hours watching the kids clamber about on the rocks…
The large hotel peeping out of the trees is where we stayed, 5mins walk into the town centre, apart from our minor glitches it was lovely…..
Heres a few in the dark…..
Sorry one is blurred..

Beautiful scenery Sue, I haven`t been to N.Wales for years but I remember it well. The day we went to Conwy castle an icy wind was blowing, we were freezing! Oh dear, I just had to laugh at you being locked out because it reminds me when it happened to me and a friend. And no breakfast?! I can`t function without it...lol! :o)

Great blog and I am glad you got into your accomodation~ same thing happened to us last year when we turned up quite late and found the place closed down!
isn't there something about castles that takes you back into history ~ Dunstanburgh is ruined but marvellous whilst Bamburgh is the business from the beach~they did Northumberland on Countryfile last Sunday and it was lovely to see the castle~ quite wanted to go there and then!
