My little patch of Wild Flowers Part 3.

Just a little blog to update you on my young Granddaughters Wild Flower garden.
I am so chuffed for her, and truthfully, chuffed for myself too.
She has succeeded in growing so many varieties that I’ve had trouble growing. lol.
For years I have tried to grow Cornflowers, and she has done it, first time she has tried, which I am thrilled about as they are the National flower of my late Father-in-Laws country, and every day she checks them to make sure they are still growing, and reminds me that they are ‘Papas’ flowers. :o)
I hope you enjoy browsing her garden patch, and the beautiful colours and varieties that she has…
This is a closeup of one of her Poppies, which I have never been successful growing. Now thanks to her, I have a selection of them. Big and small, and all different colours.
Thought I would show you, that I am not totally useless in the garden, so took a pic of my beautiful Clematis……
….and a pic of what I dug up for tea, while Granddaughter was tending ‘her’ patch. lol.
The white ones are International Kidney, and the red ones are ‘Apache’.
Neither of which I have grown before, so didn’t know what they were going to be like.
Only problem with them was, that although they were delicious, I had to watch them boiling, as they were tending to break up and go into the water, and I don’t know why.
Hope you’ve enjoyed browsing. :o)

Those wild flowers are a real treat Linda.Well done to your grandaughter, tell her she is very clever. I have noticed that pots go to near mash too, dont boil them for too long or too fast maybe!

Congratulations to your young Granddaughter on a lovely selection of wild flowers ... she's obviously a green-fingered girl! Try steaming your lovely spuds rather than boiling them ... keeps the flavour in too ... : o ))

Thankyou Sixpence;
I love the pretty mix that I have. :o)
Thankyou TT;
Granddaughter did very well, considering I only gave her the box to scatter, so I could have some peace myself. lol. :o)
Thankyou Grandmage;
She has done well. The insects love them.
I had the pots on boiling, and when I noticed they were like, 'splitting', I turned them right down to a low simmer. As they started going more watery, I took them off and strained them, but although they were lovely tasting, one or two of them, still had firm centres. :o)
Thankyou Shirley;
Yes, she definately has greenfingers.
Will steam the pots next time, and see if that makes a difference to them.
My Daughter was trying to think, had I watered them too much, or not enough,or were they meant to go like it...... :o)
PS!!! Will pass on all your lovely comments to my Granddaughter. Thankyou again. :o)
