About me
Well we started with this house 2 years back and having cleared the garden of bramble etc have started with veggies !
Having planted seeds indoors and built beds we are now anxiously waiting on actual veggies to eat ! We have read books and watched programmes but no doubt will get things horrendously wrong along the way ! So far this year we have already lost beans, pumpkins, squashes, courgettes and cucumbers !! have replaced some from garden centre !
And we also have loads of garlic as i got carried away and panicked when nothing grew ! Needless to say now we have lots so will need to store them !
Plans going forward are chickens, a small pond so maybe frogs can help us control the slug population and to get a decent shed/greenhouse so any gluts can get dried and stored in the best way possible ! So any info is always gratefully accepted !
Now to us ! We are "ahem" middle aged with a 16 year old son currently sitting his GCSE's ! I work local and my husband works up London ! So basically we just have weekends and evenings to have a life and to enjoy the fruits of our labour !
Our garden is prob in excess of 100 feet so we have a bit toplay and as there was nothing there we just had it turfed so now is planning and planting ! We also want it to look pretty but to have usefull plants ! So just ordered James Wong and Alys thingy ( my memory is awful! ) books to help us !!
So there we are i will post some photos as we go and maybe this time next year we will have vegetables and eggs galore and a pretty looking garden !!
Thanks for reading and like i said ANY hints or tips please leave them !!
Happy gardening !!!
