The Garden Up festival is a new event to Sheffield. The idea is to have show gardens and trade exhibits in the famous Botanical Gardens.
Had a great day out. From the show gardens two stood out. Brunswick Community Primary School which was a display of environmentally friendly ideas. Superb, but not an actual garden.
King Edward VII School’s was a show garden which we didn’t take any shots of.
Had a great tour by a friend of the Gardens. She took us round the Mediterranean garden, the bear pit and the aplin plants.
In the glasshouses there were miniature gardens made by primary schools.

Just seen this. The mention of the bear pit took me right back to being a small child. I had a nightmare about it! We lived above Malin Bridge at that time but later moved up to Lodge Moor in the late 50s , 1000feet up - lots of wind there! So mild here in comparison.
