Mission Accomplished!

This is a self planted Lysimachia punctata how it got there I don’t know. As it grew taller and expanded I did know that a good heavy rain could knock it down to an unattractive jumble which has happened until now. I decided to cradle it by planting a hosta on either side of it and now what I had envisioned has become a reality as you can see….
The weather here has been moderate with rain every several days with no searing blast of heat or prolonged dryness which has been perfect for planting and getting the garden fired up. What you will see in the following photos are Canna, Monarda, love lies Bleeding, and potted zinnias to name a few, all shooting up and some are going to reach the max of their respective heights soon. You may also note strings of solar powered colored lights. It is my idea that my the garden should have interest at night too so I am in the process of placing these lights all over the garden. So far it has gotten rave reviews from my neighbors. Looks like Disney World at night. I will take some photos of this but I will have to get a tripod for my camera due to length of shutter time at night…so here are some photos taken on a n overcast day of the progress so far….
The Mornada and Shasta Daisy will be in bloom soon as well as others planted years ago…I am only planting in pots these days.

Now thats a brilliant idea, so obvious but something I would not have thought of doing, lol, using the Hosta's, not only are they looking good together they are earning their place, your garden always looks lovely L'strife.....

It seems that you have the same conditions as us Loosestrife as you have the same plants in your garden. I love the callibrachoa (million bells) and the honeysuckle looks the same as mine, a cutting from my mum's garden years ago. My kind of garden, making use of anything and everything that will hold a plant.

That's right Thorny. Very often when I hear a U.K. Member mention the weather that they are currently having it is the same on my side. Parallel universes it seems.

I seem to have missed your blogs somehow so I'm catching up. Lovely photos - your garden is so vibrant, & as others have commented your hostas are huge & looking so good.
I am curious to know what are those little boxes on the fence, they look like pairs or rows of bird houses - is that what they are?

Good to hear from you GF and thank you. They are rows of bird houses represented as they are in a piece of garden fence decore that my late wife found at a flea market a long time ago.

Thanks, L'strife, I'm still here & blogging but not so active in the garden these days.
Apparently, house sparrows like to live in tenements or rows of bird houses but higher up of course.

gorgeous photos loosestrife. I have solar fairly lights all over my garden at night too and I really love them. They give the garden atmosphere in such a pretty way. :) Enjoy. I love the way those hostas are supporting the lysimachia.
