Butterflies !

Today’s been a hot and sunny day all day long, indeed still is now at 6.30, and the warm still days bring out the butterflies.
I get quite a lot of butterflies in my front garden because the border that i created recently faces south and i planted flowers in there to specifically attract them.
Amongst others i have Scabiosa and Jasione there and these are frequented most of all – i plan to plant a lot more umbels in that border too.
I’m not very knowledgeable about butterflies, the only ones i know are Peacocks and Red Admirals (both of which appear) i think the 1st one is a Painted Lady and the 2nd Marbled White.

I've seen a lot of butterflies, but they simply will not sit still for me to get their photo! SIGH. Keep trying, Spritz. Well done, Louise. :-)

I hope I see more butterflies this year. I've never seen one of those marble whiite ones.

I have not seen a marbled white either but have had loads of other whites particularly orange tips. I have also had a lot of painted lady butterflies this year. I do like your photos Louise; butterflies in good positions on nice flowers.
Spritz - it is you who has to do the sitting to get a good butterfly photo, not the other way around. lol

The marbled white is beautiful, mainly a southern one I think. I haven't seen one here in Lincolnshire, although there have been odd sightings. Still waiting for any butterflies I'm afraid lol :)
