I love going to this place, it’s a pity that i don’t live closer because i’d be there far more regularly.
Myself and 3 friends went last Friday and here are some photos that my partner took.
There are a few that i selected and i’ll put them into 2 blogs !

Missed going this year as I was short of time, but it's such a beautiful garden to visit, I'm envious :)

I live a lot closer than you lLouise yet I've never been. I keep saying I will but I'm always so busy, particularly in the summer.
Some great photos, particularly the one of Bees on Scabious. The seed heads behind the flowering ones are, I'm pretty sure , a Scabious variety called Paper Moon. The whiteish flowers are nothing to write home about but the seed heads are fab! I grew some about 3 or 4 years ago and we still have some of the seed heads in a vase in the bathroom.I've never seen them anywhere else until this photo!

Paul, please go and go now because in my opinion after mid July the flowers are going over and the long borders aren't at their best - although the rest looks good.

Those Scabiosa .....
Paper Moon sounds familiar but the name i wrote down at the time was Scabiosa farinosa.
I googled both of the names and they appear to be different plants .... i'd love to know your thoughts on this :)
I thought i'd get some for next year, they looked wonderful growing over a wall :)

Hi Louise

I was at Wisley last Wednesday. I love the long borders leading to the Henry Moore sculpture but there are so many beautiful things to looks at.

Newkid, those long borders are just glorious, i spend a long time 'drinking' them in !!!
Along with the Alpines - house and meadow .... spent ages there too !

The only area i don't go in is the Glasshouse, i prefer to spend time on the bits i love !

Well the ones I had were definitely Paper Moon Louise abd they look identical to those. Fantastic seed heads and a bit different I suppose!

You've reminded me how lovely Wisley is Louise, must go again soon - it's been a couple of years and it's not very far from me. Like you, I love the model gardens, the small scale relates to our own gardens so well. Lovely pictures, thank you

I'm going in September~having been in March but if you can go before Christmas you can spend a long time in the shopping areas getting some garden related gifts~there is always something to see no matter what the time of year!
