Beautiful evening light.

Yesterday evening had such a glow about it, I wondered around snapping anything that shone! Later that eve, while ‘band practice’ was pounding away downstairs I thought, great, I will download lots of pretty photos and write a blog…..which I did….but it all went belly up when I tried to delete a doubled up photo, which didn’t work, so here I am starting all over again!
Not sure what to call this blog, nature, garden or pets as it has all those!! I think ‘nature’
I had been busy digging up turf in an area that should be a small shrub bed..a diffucult job because of the stones in the earth (all piled up ready for the rockery, which is now getting an even bigger extention!) I noticed the willow ‘flowering’ there was a bumble bee but it was a little camera shy!
This is the Mother of all our Sycamore trees, taken as the sun was setting, I was at the time having my first glass of wine in the garden!
This photo encapsulates all that’s beautiful the the evening light and a moody sky. The plum trees begining to Blossom.
This is where Milliepuss joins me, I got some great shots of her against the sky.
That’s such a good ‘prowling’ shot!
Checking the Black Willow (thanks Karen for telling me it’s name!) The black catkins are turning white now and will become fluffier! It’s such a pretty willow at this time of year.
Dog walking time again! This is the mother Oak tree, lovely with that sky behind!
And back to the garden and one of my 2 Viburnams, flower and that sky again!
The pond is coming to life, except for my fish who is still hiding!
And this is the area which I am digging away the grass, see the pile of stones growing on the left of the dig!!
I moved and divided the foxgloves, had to yank them out a bit because they were right next to the trunk of a magnolia so have lost quite alot of the roots. I have planted them next to the hose so I can water them back to life hopefully! That’s my new Rugosa Alba in the middle of the bed!
This is my new Primrose a gift from my husband yesterday, it’s lovely and adds a good splash of sunny colour!
And last but not least the divided daylilies, it’s amazing how big the clump grew from quite a pricey little pot with one lily!!
Phew, glad I didn’t make the same mistake again, didn’t want to download all those pics again!

Those skies are just wonderful! I think thats the most positive thing to come out of a mobile phone....a mobile camera that isn't too large!

This is a lovely blog, Lulu, just the way to start the day by viewing your wonderful pics. I've done the same, tried to change a pic and lost the whole blog! It's very frustrating, but you've succeeded now. The second pic is worth framing, it's beautiful and I love Milliepuss! Sorry to see so many stones in the ground, it must make planting anything very hard work. Lulu, can you tell me what the lovely yellow pond plant is please? : o ))

Thanks everyone!
I am getting fitter by the day Mariek!! I have done a couple of hours this morning and this afternoon will be 4 hours in a friends garden!
StickiT & Shirley, I think the pond plant is some kind of water buttercup, short flowering but dazzling when it's out!
Millie puss was certainly posing....she wanted her supper!
My phone is an Ericsson, the best mobile for photographs, trouble is I take far too many pics, they all live on my computer and I never print them! Gonna ask for a printer/scanner for my birthday!

You've taken some lovely photos Lulu. I especially like the one of plum tree blossom against that dark sky. I thought I was seeing things when I came to the shot of Milliepuss as she's a dead ringer for my cat Daisy!

Good old Millie puss, she is getting used to me taking pics of her now! I am amazed just how many 'millie coloured cats' there are on GoY!
Busy day my end..just been up 20' ladder cutting back a friends Pyracanthus, was given a good bottle of wine for my trouble!
22 Mar, 2011

David said to me this eve, well I suppose it's rather like breaking a horse!! Well I suppose you get to see it grow and mature also!!
22 Mar, 2011
like breaking a horse ? lol .. I can't say i think of it like that. But I suppose it's a thought .
22 Mar, 2011
Well, David came and sat beside me as I wa trying to read some GoY blogs and said "talk to me" so I said, "oh I love garedening and watching my babies grow into big plants or plants I can divide and put somewhere else, hence his comment because horse breeding, rearing and breaking is his passion (also drumming in his band, which is what he is doing now!)

Each to his own :) Mine is pottery !

Beautiful skies captured so well Lulu, this is just a fab time of year isnt it?? Your garden is looking great.
23 Mar, 2011
Thankyou GM, always looks better after it's 2nd mow!

Ohh! Milliepuss is lovely, we have a kitty just like her, only ours looks like she's wrapped in greaseproof paper! Where Milliepuss is black and ginger Chloe is grey and peachy! She looks just like she has faded in the sun, must post a pic! Your photos are smashing...can't believe it's a phone either! Very good! The shot of the black catkins is beautiful! The rest of your garden is lovely too, so, right, I'm going to have to favourite you, anybody who can call their dog a big white slug is my sort of gal!! ;0)
24 Mar, 2011
Hahaha Libet!! Friended you also.....lurve your garden!
When Sluggy was born she was the biggest, fattest and whitest pup and I nicknamed her 'The Big White Slug'! By the time she was 4 weeks old she came running to the name Sluggypup....so when we decided to keep her we had to keep the name! As a friend said to us, such a beautiful dog, such a stupid name!! Oh well! We have two other dogs, Sluggies Mum, Prudence and her Auntie Jazzypup! Oh Millies full name is Milliepuss The Devil Cat!
Am wondering what a cat wrapped in greaseproof paper looks like?!

Yes Lulu would be great to swap daylilies, always room for just one more ,lol, which variety is yours?
I sold quite a lot on ebay last autumn, made some money to buy more:-) such great plants to post as you can just wash the roots and post them bareroot, so not too heavy, just cut the leaves back by half, even bought them bareroot in summer with flower buds and they've just carried on growing and flowered, such tough plants.
24 Mar, 2011
just blogged a pic of it Simbad!
24 Mar, 2011
Just had a look Lulu, great picture one of my favourites:-) bought it three years ago on ebay, bit disappointed as it was such a tiny fan and took two years to flower, well worth the wait though a real beauty:-)

Lovely pictures Lulu! The brighter spring skies make all us gardeners keen to get out in the fresh air.
As for the pics - I had a samsung phone before that took great pics, as does my nokia now so they're all pretty similar these days I think - and like you say a perfectly mobile camera.
As for your pond plant it looks like Caltha palustris or the Marsh Marigold - as you can see just about the first plant to flower in the spring pond
I have Calla palustris - the bog arum which has white flowers - coming into bud now. I will get a pic on here when the flower comes out
