A fellow goyer kindly sent me a parcel yesterday….
I had completely forgotten it was on it’s way! (too much being holed up in the studio!)
I excitedly opened up the parcel, hubby sais ‘it looks like some kind of green material’…..Oh Wow….Thankyou Joanella……..Tabacco leaves, all neatly wrapped flat in clingfilm!

I thought the Racing Post would come in handy one day.
Left them to dry out a bit between the paper. Also hazelnuts drying out too!

And here are next years seeds, yippee, that’ll leave the tax man short!

Hopefully the leaves will dry and turn brown. All I need to learn now is how to prepare the leaves for a wee smoke!! Am sure I can ’Google it!

Thanks Joanella, you may have got me started on something!

13 Sep, 2011

The thighs or the leaves?? :))

13 Sep, 2011

hahaha the leaves are turning yellow and I am suffering from lack of sleep and am tired a fractious!! Trying to find a way of hanging my mosaics at shows which doesn't cost a fortune, isn't too heavy and is safe and effective!

13 Sep, 2011

Ah! There is a way, Lulu...we used to use 'strap hangers'.

We had NO money!...they fitted over the top of the stand wall and hung down....all the pots hung perfectly...

I can't remember if we bought them or made them...I will re-investigate!

13 Sep, 2011

Thanks KF, the stand at Cheltenham is made of scaffolding, so is thick! Will appreciate all ideas! Thanks. x

13 Sep, 2011

20 years of experience, Lulu... craft fairs, trade fairs...home and abroad....
But, that was then......and I had two children to keep..

Bon Courage at Cheltenham! :) x

13 Sep, 2011

Do they have hanging fittings on the back Lulu? if so jsut use wire?

13 Sep, 2011

If you're going to do a lot of shows, it might be worth investing...a bit at a time...

I think our hangers were made from shelf-tracking, bent at the ends...then we put hooks wherever we wanted...or, even shelves!

14 Sep, 2011

I was thinking maybe mesh panels, the cheaper option.
Sort of ___[------ shapes, if you get my drift. I could place them in a base of wood with grooves to keep them stable..................!!

14 Sep, 2011

I'm not very sure if I understand the shapes...!
But, I'm sure it would work if you could keep them rigid... :)

Another thing we did was panels made from sheets of 'brickwork' and 'stone' effect hardboard stuff...with holes drilled here and there for little butchers hooks...they could be hung or propped up. Made quite a good backdrop!

14 Sep, 2011

True! Although the mosaics being heavy have to hang on something pretty solid. Can't do the shapes very well on computer!! But have the mesh x 3 of them in a sort of S shape!!

14 Sep, 2011
