Hello folks, I was going to call this blog ’presents & presence…..but lost a lot of the pics I was going to use (deleted the wrong ones on my camera!)
The presence of three Goy folk and the presents they brought along with a big BBQ, a birthday biscuit for Kasia, A Pixi clematis (which I really have to try to keep alive and make it flower!)
So…..all fired up with plenty of food in tummies, the labour of digging one huge hole for a rather sad golden Bamboo….

Thank you Stevie, Sticki and Kasia, now you can see what came of ‘The Grove’!!

I have had my eye on this tub for years! Went and fetched it from an old barn yesterday. It now has a winged frog as it’s guardian and a sleeping dragon along with a few plants that were lurking from my wildlife pond!

Thank you Stevie for fab bling! And Sticki for the grove hanging candle!

And finally…..these babies, saved from the shower room and re-homed in my wildlife pond! Am saving the new pond and just keeping an eye if anything chooses to live there!

A happy birthday Kasy photo!

I did have some good sunny pics of The Grove, with it’s heart crystal shining and the dogs not helping with the digging and when I’d finished, I put out one chair and Prudence sat in it. I put out another and Jazzy sat in that…brought out a cushion and had to share it with Sluggy!!

It looks fantastic Lulu. Well done with the tub - glad it found a home, lol.

And once again - thank you for a fantastic day:)
Ok - coffee or two and time to do my blog;-)

Clarice, I've had the glass lantern for ages, it's perfect for candles, if the wind blows, it doesn't matter!
Kasy, I am looking forward to your blog!
Stevie, was wondering if an orange bowl would look out of place!
It's a lovely place to sit and contemplate.
Next job is x 4 paving slabs set in the grass nearby and to move the chimera!

Lovely blog Lou, that little patch is fantastic, I love it and all the little bits you have added to it. Did you plant the bamboo in its pot? The night photo looks very calming, bet you all had fun :)

I dared to not plant the Bamboo in a pot!! Could end up with a very big grove! Apparently golden bamboo tends to grow up, rather then width.....hope so!

12 Aug, 2012

Thank you Youngdaisydee:)

P.S. still working on my blog...

12 Aug, 2012

You could be responsible for 'bambooing' half of the gardens in the UK - lol jx

12 Aug, 2012

The dogs will enjoy the 'forest' Lou!!!

12 Aug, 2012

I now have a new plan!!! Details coming soooon! It involves digging and a pond liner!

12 Aug, 2012

deleting the wrong pics, I feel for you! I did that once: now I have a folder in "my pictures" for "camera uploads" - I put all of the pictures in that, and then sort - one can get back a deleted photo that way.

But the pics you saved are brilliant, and hope your birthday was as brill.

that's looks really lovely Lulu, like the candles around it too, gives it a mystical secret look :-)

lovely blog lulu

that bamboo is so gorgeous! and together with lights and the water its just perfect; a place for contemplation!

i think you will be taking lots of photos there, light on the bamboo and moonlight shots too ~ beautiful.

12 Aug, 2012

Is the bamboo a spreader? I've read that it's a lot harder to get rid of it when it starts to take over the garden than it is to plant it

12 Aug, 2012

What a lovely blog, Lulu. Together you've created something really magical and peaceful. The dragon is great and I love the evening shots with the light in the pond. Is that a floating candle? The woven pole topped with blue lantern is lovely too. In fact, I just love all of it. Just popping out for a quick dragon and a winged frog ...

Hi lulu, that has given me a great idea for my "boring" top lawn that is 10 X 5 mtrs and just grass...and the odd weed or two.....as we were down at the bungalow this afternoon I started measuring thing out....but I think I will make mine oval and not oblong like yours...it will break the "squareness"..(if there is such a word) of the lawn up....but have an acer or something instead of bamboo...I hope that you donĀ“t mind me pinching your idea....work on it will start??????. Now a question...did you put plastic sheeting or the like underneath the gravel/pebbles to prevent weeds coming through?.

12 Aug, 2012

I think I will go 'oval' too, a much kinder shape. No plastic sheeting.....a weeding I will go!
I will post pics tomorrow of a little something I've added!!
Also, tomorrow, will go out and remember what the dragon says......in it's curled tail!
Sticki...............it's just fab, thank you.

12 Aug, 2012

What does it say in its curled tail, Lulu?

14 Aug, 2012

Ah....I knew someone was going to ask that!!! It says something like..........'oo I can't remember. I will go and look later!

15 Aug, 2012

So...went out, in the rain, didn't have my reading glasses....brought Dragon in. And it says:
'May the spiral dance of the dragons dream encircle you with love and light.'
So there we go!!

15 Aug, 2012

Thank you for going above and beyond, Lulu. You thoroughly deserve to be encircled with love and light for that! What a lovely inscription.

15 Aug, 2012

He's a nice, friendly little Dragon!

16 Aug, 2012

He looks it and anyone bearing such a lovely inscription would have to be. Funnily enough, I did find my dragon when I popped out for one the other day. She's a Bearded Dragon, a pet kept by someone who lodges in the same house as my son - not sure how I feel about that - and I fed her some lettuce leaves. I got a photo but it came out badly because of the light from the heat lamp in her living quarters. You couldn't really tell what she was, sadly. Still looking for my winged frog though!

17 Aug, 2012

A lizzardy person?

17 Aug, 2012

Who, me? I do find them interesting.

17 Aug, 2012

LoL, I meant the bearded dragon!

18 Aug, 2012

Oh! Yes definitely. Apparently they can live to 200 years old and more!

18 Aug, 2012

WHAT? Those Lizardy people..dragons? As much as buying a parrot!!
