About me
I live on my own having been widowed 12 years ago. I have three grandchildren of which only one is interested in gardening..but that's OK..one is better than none! My interests aside from gardening are crafts and Crown Green Bowling. I play for three league teams and fit my bowling in between my gardening and my grandchildren...consequently I have a young man ( yes, a man ) who comes once a fortnight to give my flat a thorough clean. Obviously, I don't have time for housework! My garden, although 3 years old is still a work in progress. Every Autumn I make plans for what to grow next year but when next year comes around my plans have gone awry.
I grow mainly flowers and shrubs but do grow some veg in containers...Runner beans (my grandson's), red onions, shallots, carrots, courgettes and salads.....more than enough for me and my family. The Runner beans are from seed of a plant grown at school by my Grandson Leon when he was 5yrs old. we leave one bean for as long as we can to get the seed for the following year......and they are jolly good beans! I really love my garden...it keeps me sane in what is a very busy life.
