A gardening update

so its been ages since I wrote a blog on here..But I’ve been really busy the last year garden wise..
i’ve redone the border in front of the house, taken out lots of overgrown shrubs
and replaced them with low growing shrubs with a silver and black theme.. So silver cotton lavender, black phormiums and heucheras ,lavender and cistus.Artimisa Powis Castle and Valerie . Its south facing and bakes all day…
Then I’ve planted a couple of new fruit trees, a new bramley apple seedling, and a new redlove variety a fleshed apple from dobies..
I’ve removed the old shed
and put the bigger new shed at the bottom of the garden now..
Removed the old fence that was dividing the last few meters of the garden off , and planted some laurel shrubs along the back fence and tried to remove the ivy from the now exposed trees…
Now I have a 7×5 shed sized bare patch thats desperate for plants.. so I’m going to join two small borders into one, plus merge it into the shed sized space..
a
I am going to move the plants from two other borders( which I’m going to turf over)..
Then I still have to shape the bank and make the pond more natural round the edges..
Its going to be years before this garden conforms to the plan that exists in my head, buts its real fun getting there..:)

WoW you have been busy, the border under the window looks much better, good choice of plants and the area where the old shed was also looks a lot better, you have a lovely (big) garden and your plan sounds excellent, looking forward to seeing the changes...

Thanks on the compliments, it has been hard work but very slowly inching my way towards it looking better.. Yes YoungdaisyD I'm very lucky in having a farily big garden, it does get on top of me occassionally with everything that needs doing but I would'nt swap for a smaller one..Its the main reason we bought the house..:)
