They have been doing that here Maggie, I think the rain has brought the worms and suchlike to the surface and the birds are having a feast, they make a right racket squabbling amongst themselves, funny to sit and watch them, I can be entertained for hours watching the birds....

Aaahhh is that what it is linclass..... I was wondering what had brought them all to my grass. And they sure are entertaining to watch..... they stop me in my tracks and make me smile, noise and all! Lol. ?

I assu,e these are Starlings?? they do seem to arrive in large flocks. We used to get hundreds in our last garden but hardly ever see them here.
In fact, we don't see many birds at all in our garden recently although, to be fair, I've had little time to stop and look in the last few weeks. but, I did spot a green woodpecker on the lawn a week or so ago, and the Jays are back in the Oak behind our garden.

Yes Paul they were starlings. And noisy things they were too.
And how lucky are you to have seen a woodpecker in your garden. ? I've never seen one of those in real life at all!
Had a few jays appearing last year though. And only once last yeah I had a pheasant, I was amazed, but never ever saw it again after that one time!

Yes. I have only ever seen Woodpeckers since I moved to near Rochford(Ashingdon). I have always lived in Essex but about 17 miles away in Corringham/Stanford le hope for the previous 34 years to moving here 2 years ago.

i would love to have woodpeckers in the garden Paul, unfortunately I can't move to rochford though, so send some to Chelmsford for me. Hehe! ?

Lovely to see the Starlings, they are such comical little birds. We had a few and now the flock has grown quite big. I love seeing them swing on the washing line.
How lovely Paul to have a green woodpecker. My sister in Suffolk has one visit her garden on a regular basis.

They are indeed Linda. I thought they should have left the country by now, but maybe I'm wrong in thinking that, they certainly seem to like my little garden though, they are regulars now! Lol.
No green woodpeckers though, both Paul and your sister are lucky on that one! ?

I'm sure they are around you Maggie.
As you are in Chlemsfrd, can I ask you if you've been to the new John Lewis store? We were going to take a ride there one day but we have read some poor reviews, online, which say it's small and not very well stocked. Can't always believe everything you see online f course and that was the first few days it opened.

Hi Paul. Yes I have been to the new John Lewis store. I only went there to get bedding and an iPhone though, so only went to those two departments. I didn't look round at any other departments. I really liked it, but I suppose it may be a bit small on reflection, but still worth a visit. I Don't park in their underground car park though, I usually park in the Tesco store which is really close to it. You get 3 hours free parking in there if you spend £3 or more. I park ( no need to get a ticket or anything), then I go around town for about 2 and half hours to wherever I need to go, then I return to the Tesco store and spend £3 on milk or something else, then they give you a parking voucher along with your receipt when you pay at the till. Take the receipt to one of the parking machines which are at all the levels, tap the last free numbers of your car reg in, then a picture of your car comes up. You select your car picture and then when prompted scan your parking voucher on the machine. ( you have to wave the voucher about a bit though to get it to register).
