Hi, been to Spain for a week, had half good weather and half wet weather, we still got out and about. We took lots for flower photos, got to get them downloaded and onto the site.

Spent today sowing seeds: lots of varieties of lettuice, plus a mixed packet, some Mange Tout peas, two varieties of cucumer, a pale yellow vine small one, and a dark green small one. Two different tomato, a chocolate pepper (can’t wait to see this one, it will be part of my “Chocolate collection” inspired by David)

In the flowers, Nasturtiam Cobra, and a unamed variety whose seed I saved from last year. Sweet pea a yellow variety bred by Joe Maiden in support of his charity. Some pansy seed saved from last year.

I have set off four lots of living greens, purple radish, red clover, rocket victoria and cress, hopefully we shall be eating within a few days.

Enjoyed my day, it was bright but cold, did my potting in the conservatory!

Hi Marge. Glad you enjoyed your holiday. Good luck with your sewings. Chocolate pepper - I've never heard of those. Will you put a photo of it when it comes ? It sounds interesting.

Hi The chocolate pepper seeds came via the Internet from the Realseedcompany. The peppers are chocolate coloured on the outside, and red flesh inside. I bought them late last year, it just intrigued me. Their web site is a good read.

I will let you know how they progress..

Lovely. It's great to start sowing this year's seeds. Are the cucumbers for growing indoors? I don't have a greenhouse so I grow a ridge type cucumber out doors but I don't sow them until mid April in my heated potting shed. They were fantastic last year.

Hi Paul, the cucumbers are outdoor. Last year i was too late starting them, I only managed to harvest one cucumber! So i have started early this year. The are in my little bedroom in propergators at the moment. Evenutally they will pot on and move outdoors. Because there are on the two of us, I end up throwing away more cucumber than we can eat, to I deliberately chose shorter varieties. Lett you know how I get on.
