Catastrophe in the Garden !!

Catastrophe in the garden – the wood pigeons and doves visit daily to the feeders for sunflower hearts – of course they are far to overweight – but I love em ! and they have a safe haven in our garden – of course they know they have to keep a watch out for Marley the neighbours cat – but apart from him and the occasional visiting sparrowhawk they are reasonably safe.
Monday catastrophe struck – the saucer under thefeeder – their landing spot crashed to the floor and smashed – Monday being a working day I was unable to go for a replacement so I needed to improvise!!
After a frantic search round the garden I came up with this idea – an empty hanging basket with a plastic plate liner – Ha Ha it worked !!

The dove doesn`t see to mind, my water dish on my feeding station split last winter, it was the plastic one supplied with it, my daughters did the same and she discovered that the aluminium cat dishes sit in the rings perfectly, problem solved, so easy to keep clean as well.....
