This is the first flower on my red poppy.I took the photo in the pouring rain because I didn’t want the petals to fall. I have also taken a pic of the other buds that will be opening any day. If this is any good I can save u some seeds or you can have a root. They seemed to have seeded in several
places.

Hi Marjorie, thank you, this is the same one as the one I have, it looks it anyway. Thanks for the offer though. I have been reliable informed that Beauty of Livermore is the one I want. I shall order it later on. Strange how we all see colours differently, I think this of mine looks red until about the 2nd day and then it is more orange than red. The one I have seen is dark red cannot think of something which would clearly compare it. I have pinks and then the more common poppies which come out later in every shade of pink and purple and red of course. They are all beautiful but the darned rain we have had has ruined them, but the seed heads are just as attractive. Lovely to hear from you hope you are keeping well and enjoying your garden when you can. xx Barbara
