Conifers

This is a small part of my front garden.
Near the front wall there a selection plants which I put in last year and they have romped away and the golden evergreen in the middle has grown taller than I wanted it to. Can any body tell me if I can reduce the height safely.
I would also like to slightly change it’s shape to a column. Is this advisable? Can anybody advise me?

Hi Marjories you would probably be best adding this to the questions page. Hope you are well, sorry I know nothing about conifers, but the little I do know is they hate pruning. Hope you can get some answers to the problem. Barbara x

You may be able to move it to a better place in the winter
if it is still young. Check RHS encyclopaedia for full height of this variety first. It may have reached its maximum.

Conifers are rather unforgiving about pruning. They can take a light trim, but trim too much, it won't grow back.
