Well so much for resting my shoulder.Yesterday i made Bonnies home which which wasnt to straining but i got through it.To cap it all of late in the afternoon Bonnie was playing in the garden when the neighbours Huskie broke through the fence and chased Bonnie into the house. It was most certainately a frightening time especially for Bonnie.Me and Julie then had to repair the fence where she broke through. She had broken through before a long time ago but we had forgotten about it so the fence was weak already due to it age etc etc.We got as far as we could with the wood i had.So at the moment bonnie cannot go in the garden till the fence is finished. Also we are going to build up the front garden fence so this never happens again.Even though i like my next door neighbours dog they didnt offer to help which i think is a bit wrong considering it isnt our dog causing the damage and she as to now suffer due to this :((((( Not for long though.

Hi Mark ...
You might need a higher fence all around ...

Any advice would be great TT as we already know Bonnie can jump quite high already .We will be redoing the rest of the fence aswell lol:)))

I would guess that Bonnie and the Husky can both jump very high ...
... so, yes, a higher fence all around !

... and make sure the dogs can't tunnel underneath the
fence ...

Oh dear bet that scared her, when we had our first family pet it was a jack russell, we called him Tiny, he used to run up the fence and gate and straight out of the garden, no problems to him, was a right little escape artist, then we had Sam who even jumped the gate where we live now and that was six feet, lol, the little terriers always seem to be more likely to gain their freedom, if there's a will then they will find a way Mark....

OH dear Mark! Molly would crash through our fence given half a chance to 'sort out' the spaniel on the other side! Today she spent a good 20 mins. barking at a cat who sat atop the fence and just 'mocked' her! Eventually I had to go out and shoo the cat away or she'd still be there barking at it now! Molly would take on any other dog...Rottweiler, German Shephers...she doesn't care...but her worst enemy is the Westie...oh my, she hates them! lol...TERRIERS!

Cassie had a hatred for a certain cat in our neighbourhood, every day on her walks she looked for this cat as we approached its garden, 5 out of 7 days a week she chased that cat, I used to say to her, Cassie if you corner her she will chin you! one day just before we got to the said cats gate, Totally unexpectedly the cat jumped out, done a full back flip with those tallons out and in 0 point sixth of a second swiped Cassie across the nose spun a full circle and ran back into her garden, I stood in shock or was it awe, and Cassie was deffinatley in shock, Then the blood came, the slash across the soft tissue of her nose was long and deep, there was a trail of blood to my front door and i was saying, I told you the cat would chin you, but did you listen! It took a long time and a lot of pressure with T towel to stop the bleeding. Next day just before we passed the cats gate cassie done a semi circle and didnt keep her eyes off the gate lol, she never chased that cat again..
You must be fed up Mark61 not to be able to let your dog out, especially at night when its dark, I hope you get the fence fixed asap :)

Good luck, securing the fence Mark.
We had new neighbours move in last week and they have two Alsatians who bark every time we open/shut the door or gate and every time Paddy or us are in the garden. And, even when someone walks past the house! They seem to be left in the conservatory when the owners go to work.So we have barking most of the day and, yesterday, Paddy was in the garden and they obviously wee to and they growled and barked and scratched at our fence.I dread to think what would happen if they got through, so ,it seems poor Paddy is going to be a prisoner in his own home like Bonnie.

DD, that is exactly like Molly. She was 'mugged' by a large street cat in the city when staying with our kids! Those cats take no prisoners! The cat jumped out at her from under a car and the two of them were rolling around as Molly tried to shake it off! My daughter was upset, but no damage done really.....until next time!

Glad Bonnie's ok Mark.

YDD and KarenSusan, your tales of your dogs really cheered me up and reminded of a border collie I once had who was terrorised by next doors cat! It brought back memories!
