January gardening

I have just spent a pleasant few hour’s in the garden. It was cool and overcast but still nice enough to potter. I prepared a bed for some late mixed bulb planting( tulip’s crocus and narcissi 90 in total). My son then did the digging and planting for me, I scattered a spice mix and put a bit of trellis flat on the top , just till they get established hopefully that will deter any thing from digging there. After a tea break I did a general tidy up and staked and straightened a few thing’s all in all thoroughly enjoyable time, it is great to get your hand’s back in the soil :-))

I'm envious of your time in the garden, Mavis. I am raring to go but too damp yet here in spite of the mild weather. I must admit I wondered what spices you were growing for a moment - then realised what you were doing :)
