Since our drenching today, the plants have certainly perked up and look refreshed. That’s one positive we can take from the rain.

Your garden is neat and tidy (unlike mine lol !) but you have so many different plants and they way you've planted them they make a lovely tapestry, and they look so healthy. It's all rather elegant.

I see a monarda there, so they have obviously started to grow for you! A pretty colour. You nandina is growing well. I had to take mine out of the border and put it into a pot as it was doing nothing in the border. Now it has taken off at last.
Textures and contrasts lovely as usual. The weather has improved the look of things here, too. I was enjoying the contrasting greens in my plot yesterday, during the rain!

It does look lovely M'land, I need to mow the lawns but the rain isn't giving me the time at the moment, never mind at least it looks lush...

Hywel said it just right..elegant ! Mine , apart from the shrub border are all cottage borders and like Lincslass haven't had the weather to mow the lawns either!
I do hope we get an Indian summer otherwise winter is going to seem so long!

Glad the rain helped your garden, it nearly flattened mine.
The road I live on was too deep in water for cars to pass.
I have never seen local flooding like it. Glad I am on a hill.

It certainly looks bright and perky round your garden, Julia. Looks lovely as always. I did have a nandina on the rockery a few years back. I’m not sure what happened, but it looked like it was slowly dying..I watered it and it was in part sun/part shade..? Maybe the soil? I’d love another, but I’d be worried it’d go the same way. Yours is gorgeous, Julia.

Well your nandina encouraged me too.How old is it? (You shouldn't really ask a lady's age should you...) Its looking great! What a lovely garden you always seem to have, all so very neat and well planned. (Makes a change from looking at mine, which is looking distinctly scruffy at present.)Pics 3 & 4 are just inspiring!

Twelve years - oh dear that's a long time to wait. I doubt I'll be here by then but somebody else can enjoy it!

Thanks Julia, I’m guessing it’d have to be a potted plant in ericaceous soil for me. It’s worth a thought though.
