If anyone is interested BBC 2 and 4 are showing this wonderful annual concert….we make a point of watching it each New Year’s Day…the flower arrangements are beautiful.
Apparently Hugh Bonneville from ‘Downton’ series is in the audience if you can spot him.
Fifteen years ago we were lucky enough to have a holiday in Vienna….a city we will never forget….outstanding architecture and numerous coffee places where the tradition is to drink steamed coffee not filtered. Milk or cream is served in a tiny pot with the coffee served with delicious pastries.Would love to return one day.

Lovely idea Julia 🙂. We had a wonderful weekend there many years ago, treated by OH’s boss, about ten of us. The highlight was a ride in a fiacre(?) followed by a dinner. All the ladies were given a present - I treasure my little cut glass open clam holding a pearl which casts a rainbow “shadow” in sunlight.

We watch this concert every year! It's one of the highlights of the year for my wife & she always dresses up specially & puts on makeup just to see it - as if she were there in person! 😀👍
