Nothing to do with gardening at all!
The Ashes start Wednesday night – not what I need really, but what the heck , I’ll be listening.
This is our best chance in twenty four years to return from Australia with the Urn. The Aussies are notably quiet this time, and with good reason. They do genuinely appear to be on the back foot. Plus, Andrew Strauss has grown into the role of captain, whilst the Australian captain Ricky Ponting appears more and more embattled.
It’s by no means a foregone conclusion, and let’s hope that we haven’t flattered to deceive again, but it is realistic.
Let battle commence – I for one can’t wait and look forward to long sleepless nights for once!

You're so right Littlelegs!
I've just checked all my alarms (bedside, phone, e-mail etc) and I set them all correctly but still managed to type "Thursday".
I'm losing the plot!

Thankfully we only seem to have non stop footie and Rugby. If we had cricket as well it would seem more like home!! The scots aren't much into the game though :((

I hate all sports except Football :o) I enjoy a good football match. You can shove all the rest ! - sorry lol

Ohhhh!! I googled it. Cricket. Now if my Grandad was still alive it would be on all day every day. He loved cricket.

God I hate football! At the highest level they're just an overpaid bunch of "jessies" with no spirit. The English soccer team is a disgrace!
Rant over!!!
Gilli - I used to watch cricket with my Grandad.

Oh I love football and cricket both.I enjoyed Messi's hat-trick that led Barcelona triumph.

22 Nov, 2010

I think they should give up the football, cricket and rugby and take up gardening...

22 Nov, 2010

You can keep your overpaid high-ego jessie footballers - give me a good game of rugby any time! (She says - not remotely biased because the love of her life is a Welsh ex-rugby player!) :o)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Someone has to prepare the wicket Rbtkew!!

Camillia - who's Messi??

I enjoy both the codes of rugby - played when I was younger until my ankle injury.
To be fair, all top flight sport has egos, ie; Gavin Henson, Kevin Pietersen .

Indeed Meanie, gone are the days of playing sport on paddy fields, If you could see the work that has to go into the bowling green, where I play, its incredible. Its in use every day from september - Oct. its a science and an art these days to maintain any sporting surface and keep it up to scratch.

Agreed Littlelegs - especially when somebody chucks a hard ball onto it at 60mph with spin, or chucks the same hard ball onto it at 90mph with intent!!

22 Nov, 2010

I do try not to chuck my balls (well bowls actually) down that hard, but some of them do. LOL

All we have on over here is Hockey, Hockey, Hockey....and I hate it. All the fights on the ice...and they're encouraged to do it too! Canada is Hockey mad. And if it's not Hockey it's Football (North American) or Baseball which I also dislike intensely.

22 Nov, 2010

I was born in Rugby so rugby was compulsory at school; I hated it as I was 4ft high and weighed an ounce! I don't mind watching it now though.

Meanie Messi is an Argentine football player. His full name is Lionel Andres Messi. He plays for Barcelona(Barca). He is a very talented soccer star.

Well, what an incredible opener!
Looked like we were done for after our first innings! Got just plain awful for us after the Aussies first innings!!
And then our second innings. Unbelievable! 500 runs for the loss of just one wicket, records falling all over the place. And all of this in the fortress that the Australians call the Gabba! In years gone by we would have been relieved to leave there with a draw - this time we can almost feel cheated.
They now know that they have a battle on their hands!
