Campanula

It’s that time of year again!

It grows here :

It grows there :

It grows high :

It grows low :

It grows at the front :

It grows at the back :

I love it really, but when it has finished flowering, I shall pull it all up. Not that that will make any difference!

Yes indeed. Thank goodness it's so pretty!

Lol! Thank goodness it returns in spite of you! It's lovely! I have inherited one that's very, very pale. Almost white. It's quite unusual. A lovely surprise as I was expecting blue!

It is beautiful, isn't it, Karen? White sounds lovely.

Oh, it'll get over it, Bloomer, just you wait and see!

They seek him here they seek him there they seek him everywhere. lol. I too love them, they are so cheerful. :O)

They are - and they always seem to position themselves so prettily!

And you don't have to go far to seek them out!

Although I have said I will pull all out, I won't really - I'll just thin it, to salve my conscience!

I love them too, I have bought quite a few this year, I am hoping it will go all over the place...anywhere and everywhere like yours. :))

This is c. poscharskyana, and it arrived on its own. If that's the one you've got, you'll soon have it everywhere! If you have c. portenschlagiana it's still pretty vigorous. Lovely, whichever one you have.

They are both totally unpronounceable! :)

I know - every time I mention their names, I have to check with Google!

Your blog reminded me of that song....The seek him here, they seek him there ;)
Looks great wherever it chooses to grow doesn't it?

It does, Scottish - I really have a very soft spot for it and look forward to seeing it flower each year. It is such a beautiful, soft blue, and I love the way it climbs or trails, depending where it has positioned itself. It is lovely the way it often grows through shrubs. I even forgive it for appearing through the floor inside our dining room!

I've got one or the other, can't remember which but thus far (3 years) I've found it no where else in the garden. Mind you, I'm a bit obsessive about weeding! I get terrified in case I end up with something very invasive - like my neighbours nettles, lily of the valley, kerria japonica, willow herb, brambles and snowberry. I'd have kittens if I had to add another to the list :)

I bet you haven't got the one I've got! Mind you, having said that, I can not claim to be an obsessive weeder! I've got snowberry in the front garden, planted about thirty years ago, and I haven't found it much of a problem. But I suppose it depends on the conditions. Ground ivy and dead nettle (which was planted deliberately) are the most invasive things I've got . I just pull them up (and pull them up, and pull them up...!)

Doesn`t nature do a wonderful job. It all looks wonderful to me Melchisedec.

Thanks, Stroller! I leave nature to organise as much as I can!

Yes I like that little Campanula. I don't mind it spreading at all :)

21 Jun, 2014

No - it's lovely, isn't it? :-)

22 Jun, 2014

Yes :o)

Mmm ... not sure which one mine is now, Susanne.
Through the dining room floor?? How on earth?

Just by the French window, Tuesdaybear - not quite as dramatic as I make it sound! It is growing on the steps just outside, and shoots appear under the pvc doorsill. It always makes me laugh. I imagine a forest of it under the floor, but of course, that's not really the case. It's just poetic (or literary) licence for the sake of the blog!
