Containers

Lots of colour in the containers at the moment. The whole garden is a bit wild at the moment – even for me. I’ll catch up eventually!
Baskets:
Begonias:
This is my overwintered Begonia Glowing Embers in its third year. It has grown really well this time, with beautiful lush foliage. It seems to flower a little later each year – there are lots of flower buds under the leaves and I expect it to be quite spectacular before very long.
Finally, this is my new water feature, an early birthday gift from OH. When I first fixed it up it sounded just like a tap left running (not surprising, really!) but by placing a large stone in each of the “buckets”, I have managed to reduce it to a nice quiet tinkle. No worries about disturbing the neighbours now!

Nice and colourful.
I like your water feature :) and the bottles. I used to have one like that first one - don't know what became of it though ...

Lovely, bright containers all looking so fresh and colourful.
I really like your new water feature, glad you have improved its sound effects!
Be reassured, our garden is a bit wild at the moment and is matched by the weather! We have had a real struggle with it since about the beginning of June and it ain't getting any easier!!

Thanks, everyone. Blues and yellows are great in the garden, Paul. The yellows really shine out at dusk, though we haven't had many evenings outside this year.
I've got several bottles in the garden, Hywel. In fact I have quite a few random bits and pieces out there, even a couple of bits of pottery and china!
I was rather pleased with myself for modifying the sound of the water, Wildrose - it was a bit alarming! I am comforted by the thought that I'm not the only one whose garden has been a bit of a struggle this year. The weather has put me off, but it hasn't deterred many of the plants - and certainly not the weeds (wildflowers!)

Your containers are looking lovely Melchi and I love your waterfeature, my garden is a tad wild and wonderful this year, lots of plants being allowed to do their own thing, we were desperate for rain but the last few days have made up for that, consequently the weeds are appearing with a vengeance...

Thank you!
There has certainly been some rain in the last few days, Lincslass! We have had a very dry year up till now, and the water butts have been getting empty - not at the moment though!
Hope you are recovering and are not feeling quite so sore ?

I also love your birthday present ! When is it ?

Thank you, Klahanie - the Begonias are very good this year.
Thanks Rose. It's not until Sept 1. We'll all be in Cromarty that week (in two houses, because we've outgrown the one!) can't wait!

Where is Cromarty Mel ?

It is at the tip of the Black Isle (which is a peninsula, not an island) just north-east of Inverness. It is a beautiful place, and we go there every two years. I wrote a blog about it two years ago.

Hi Mel. Lovely, bright containers there! My garden has been wild and wilful this year, too - looks like many of us are in the same boat; handy with all the rain we're getting.

Thank you Tuesdaybear. Thank goodness for the rain - my garden was very dry and the water butts were empty.
We were visiting our eldest yesterday. He is just starting his first garden and it is beginning to look lovely. It's only small and was pretty much a blank canvas. Our other son has just moved into a new house, so he'll be thinking about starting a garden too. Quite exciting!
