my mum has 5 cats sewingkilla and she says the same as you and when they go to sleep on her plans and you only realise when you go to water them of an evening and see big flat patches where they have been squashed. Gotta love a moggy though x x x

Yes, I know that feeling of the squashed plant. New people next door have a cat and he/she seems to have taken to hidig in my Clematis Armandii as he tries to pounce on the pigeons. Our dog, Paddy, chases the Pigeons away but not the cat. Oh well, I suppose I'll have to give it a prune and tidy up. The Clematis, that is, not the Cat!!

I feel the same about woodpigeons! They walk round my flowerbed and squash plants and peck flowers!
Please may I borrow your shotgun? It would satisfy me greatly to fire at the great fat greedy waddling things!
BANG!!!!

My poor old mut is blamed for wandering neighbours' gardens. It tickled us pink when one neighbour complained that he had performed on her front lawn to my son while we were away on holiday, Jasper was well into the second week of a fortnight break with friends who lived some distance away.
Recently someone left an offering in a carrier bag in my porch. There is no way Jasper was responsible, his vision and hearing is so poor we never let him out of our sight. I think he gets the blame because he is the neighbourhood scruffy mut. After spending time at Paul's I am often miffed to find someone else's dog has left a message in our garden in our absence! Grrrrr!
As for cats, they know that poor. old Jasper cannot see or smell them these days. They curl up on the top of the rabbit hutch or bins and watch him, I am sure I can see a smerk on their faces.

Do you no who left the offering? what a nasty thing to do

Yes, I agree, poor old Jasper, he is a sweetie!
Mookins: Cut the bottoms of soft drink bottles and pop them over the seeds/seedlings. This will allow light during the day and keeps molluscs off at night. You'll have to lift them off while watering. Then when the plant is strong and sturdy, wildlife won't fancy nibbling them.
Good luck and keep up the good work! xoxxo
